Billie Eilish’s song duo, titled Guitar Songs, features two new tracks titled “The 30th” and “TV.” Billie first previewed “TV” back in June, during a live show in Manchester. “We haven’t played a new song live before it’s out since 2017 or 2018,” Billie told the crowd at the time, alongside her brother and longtime collaborator Finneas. “This is one we just wrote, and we just wanted to play for you.” Now officially out, “TV” is a dreamy and melancholy ballad that also addresses real-world issues.

Below, check out “TV” and other brand new releases from this week in our roundup of best new songs and projects.

“The internet’s gone wild watching movie stars on trial / While they’re overturning Roe v. Wade,” sings Billie on “TV.” In an interview with Apple Music, Billie shared that she and Finneas had actually written the line referencing the Supreme Court’s decision to end the constitutional right to abortion in the United States before the actual decision came to pass, calling the line “a placeholder of doom.”

The other song in the duo, “The 30th,” was written by the siblings on December 30 — a record Billie says was the first song they wrote post-Happier Than Ever. Billie told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe that she’s working towards releasing her next album in 2023, and that Guitar Songs is somewhat of a gift, as they’re the “only songs that we have.”
