The summer of celebrities in corsets continues and Keke Palmer is the latest fashionable member of Hollywood to try the trend wearing a super cropped take on the style.

Appearing at the Nope premiere, Keke wore a cropped corset top from Marc Jacobs. She coordinated the white top with a black low-rise skirt and black elbow-length gloves. The skirt came with a few noteworthy details, including a pants-like pocket at the front and a looped strap. The entire look — gloves and boots included — made its runway debut at the Marc Jacobs fall/winter 2022 show.

As far as accessories go, Keke added a bracelet set on top of her gloves and sported a Bulgari diamond choker. Keke pulled the entire ‘fit together with black platform heels. She also sported a glossy pink lip and wore her hair in long braids.

Corsets remain as popular as ever these days. Bella Hadid just put a Y2K spin on the look, wearing a denim corset and matching denim miniskirt in a recent Instagram Story post. Other celeb supporters of the trend include Gigi HadidHailey Bieber, and Olivia Rodrigo. Billie Eilish also made headlines for her Met Gala 2022 corset, which was custom-made by Gucci.

It’s unclear what inspired the corset resurgence, but 2019 also featured plenty of celeb support. The fashionable piece comes with quite a bit of history and was especially prominent in the newest season of Bridgerton. However, Simone Ashley confessed that the look did come with “a lot of pain.” (Seems like we shouldn’t expect Simone to hit the red carpet in a corset anytime soon… or should we?)

As for Keke, you’ll get your chance to see even more of her when Nope debuts in theaters on Friday, July 22. The newest film from Jordan Peele features Keke, along with actors Daniel Kaluuya, Steven Yeun, and Bradon Perea. Described as a horror epic, the film follows as residents in a lonely gulch of inland California bear witness to an uncanny and chilling discovery.
