Megan Fox is a true chameleon when it comes to hair trends, rocking everything from futuristic bangs and waist-length waves to pink hair. But her latest hairstyle is sure to divide fans, particularly those belonging to different generations.
Let’s rewind quickly: remember back in February 2021 when Gen-Z canceled side partings? Apparently, the way to wear your hair in 2022 was with a middle parting. Anything remotely side-swept? Sorry, it means you’re old.
For millennials who grew up during the MySpace era, wearing your hair huuugely swept to the side was very much the “in” thing. Thanks to endless cans of hairspray and the cheapest hair gel you could get your hands on, hair basically defied gravity. It was quite impressive, actually. So, back to the present day, Megan Fox has officially un-canceled side partings. Anyone born after the mid-90s, look away now.
Makeup artist Ash Kholm posted the below behind-the-scenes clip on July 27, which is actually a throwback to a shoot Megan a few weeks back with her go-to hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos. Her hair is shorter than usual with bouncy curls and, of course, that noticeably side-swept parting.
“All hands on deck for finishing touches,” Ash shared on TikTok, while at the time, Dimitris posted: “MEGAN 💥💥💥 Short-ER and bouncy for stunning #MEGANFOX.”
Okay, it may not be the super side-swept, gravity-defying parting of the ’00s scene kid days, but it’s certainly a nostalgic antidote to 2022’s obsession with middle partings. And if there’s one thing we’re sure of, it’s that Meg can pull off any hairstyle under the sun.
