Sex Education is losing another cast member. Tanya Reynolds, who played Lily on the series, revealed she won’t be returning for season four of the hit Netflix series.

Tonya explained the loss of Moordale’s resident expert on all things erotic and aliens during a recent interview, Entertainment Weekly reports. Speaking with RadioTimes, she said, “It’s just the natural progression of these shows — when you have such big ensemble casts and so many characters, I think you have to let a few older characters go to make way for newer ones, which is absolutely the right thing, the way it should happen.”

She continued, saying, “I loved every minute of it and I loved Lily with my whole entire heart. Three seasons was just a really perfect amount for me.”

Fortunately for fans, Tanya already has other projects lined up. According to EW, she’ll star in the HBO series The Baby, and her IMDb page says she in the forthcoming film remake of Harold and the Purple Crayon

Tanya isn’t the only Sex Education star leaving before season four. Patricia Allison, who portrayed Ola on the series, also announced her departure. She revealed that she’s planning to do “some other little things” in the future. Simone Ashley, who played Olivia on the series, is also leaving, confirming that she’s now focused on Bridgerton.

There’s not yet word on who else might not return, but members of the cast are seriously booked. Ncuti Gatwa, who plays Eric, was named the newest Doctor in Doctor Who. He’s set to join fellow Sex Education costars Emma Mackey (Maeve) and Connor Swindells (Adam) for the live-action Barbie remake.

We’re definitely going to miss Lily’s alien-focused antics, but Moordale is sure to have plenty more fun and mishaps ahead when Sex Education returns. Netflix hasn’t yet revealed an official premiere date, but we do know that filming is set to begin this summer.
