The muva of punk rap Rico Nasty is back with a deliciously rageful new single. A trippy love letter to, well, Black punk, “Black Punk” is Rico’s follow-up to last month’s “Intrusive.” In just a few weeks, Rico will be embarking on the European leg of her Black Punk Tour, kicking the festivities off in London on the festival circuit.
Cautious Clay, “Puffer”
Cautious Clay has returned, almost a full year after the release of his debut album Deadpan Love. “Puffer,” a mellow rock tune that’s all about yearning for more intimacy in our emotions and our everyday lives.
“Puffer is a track deeply personal to me,” Cautious Clay told DIY Magazine about the track. “I found a metaphor that feels akin to our modern world: people often behave like pufferfish, in order to appear less vulnerable. In doing so this of course often has the opposite effect, in becoming more visible. And along the way we might lose track of our authenticity, by becoming larger than life.”
