Easy Brussels Sprouts in the Air Fryer

We all know someone that claims to hate brussels sprouts, right? I love serving those people my Brussels Sprout Slaw and Maple Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Bacon, but these are just so easy and delicious. So, I say, have them over for dinner and serve these Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts, then see what they say.

My guess? They’ll come around! These brussels sprouts are just that good. They’re perfectly seasoned with salt, pepper, and garlic, tossed in olive oil, then cooked in the air fryer which gives them a perfectly soft middle and slightly crispy exterior. 

So easy to make and so yummy!

Ingredients Needed:

  • Brussels: use fresh brussels sprouts that are even in size so they all cook at the same rate. 
  • Olive Oil: coating the sprouts in oil is key for that crisped exterior.
  • Seasonings: we’re keeping the spices simple with salt, pepper, and garlic granules.
  • Optional Garnishes: I love to finish my sprouts off with a sprinkle of fresh parmesan, bacon, or a drizzle of maple syrup.

How to Cook Brussels Sprouts in the Air Fryer

Making brussels sprouts in the air fryer is so darn easy! This delicious side dish is ready in just 15 minutes.

  1. Season the brussels: In a bowl, toss together brussel sprouts, salt and pepper, and garlic granules.
  2. Air fry: Transfer the brussels to the air fryer, then cook at 375ºF for 8-12 minutes, tossing halfway through or until crisp-tender to your liking.

How Long to Cook Brussels Sprouts in the Air Fryer

The cooking time can vary depending on the size of the sprouts you use. I say 8-12 minutes as a guide, but I recommend checking them at 8 minutes, then adding time as needed.

Larger ones can take a few minutes longer, so watch and adjust as needed!

Why Won’t My Brussels Sprouts Get Crispy?

It’s most likely because they don’t have room to breathe!

Make sure they’re in the basket in a single layer so the air can circulate and cook them all the way around. If they’re stacked up, they may just steam and remain soft. 

If you have too many sprouts, air fry in smaller batches so they all get that perfect crisp-tender texture.

You can also periodically pull the basket out and give it a little shake to redistribute the sprouts. This helps them cook more evenly!
