It’s finally (almost) here! Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hits theaters on November 9, but its stars just hit the red carpet for the official premiere in Hollywood on October 26, 2022.
The sequel to Marvel’s Black Panther includes many of the original cast members with a few new faces, including Michaela Coel. The storyline centers on the Wakandan warriors trying to protect their world after the loss of King T’Challa, played by the late Chadwick Boseman.
The premiere was a must-attend event packed with stars; everyone turned it out with their red carpet looks. Vibrant colors, rich textures, and surprising details were popular trends of the evening; think Quinta Brunson’s velvet and metallic navy and gold gown, Michael B. Jordan’s marigold yellow suit, or Danai Gurira and Angela Bassett’s plum ruffles. Purple is, after all, one of the key colors of the Black Panther franchise and the world of Wakanda, and even the red carpet was purple for the occasion. Bright, eye-catching white was another major trend of the evening, with star Lupita Nyong’o looking stunning in a two-piece set with an asymmetrical top and cutouts and Tessa Thompson in a sleek white column gown.
Oh, and did we mention Rihanna was there? The new mom made an appearance on the carpet alongside her partner A$AP Rocky, wearing a putty-colored strapless gown with opera-length gloves, voluminous, cascading waves, and a bold ear cuff. (She’s part of the soundtrack, after all!)
