Cheese Puff Pastry Crowns

Ingredients (makes approx. 18 cheese crowns)

  • 375g ready-made puff pastry sheet
  • 1 egg
  • 50g cheddar cheese

Method:

Preheat oven to 200°C (Gas mark 6/390°F). Line 2 large baking trays with baking paper.

Unroll the puff pastry sheet and use a crown shaped cookie cutter to cut out as many crown shapes as you can.

Place the pastry crowns on the baking sheets, leaving space between them to allow for spreading.

Break the egg into a small bowl and lightly whisk. Brush the pastry crowns with the egg.

Finely grate the cheddar cheese. Scatter the grated cheese over each pastry crown.

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until the crowns are puffed up and the cheese is golden.

Serve your cheese crowns warm, or cool them on a baking rack.
