K-Pop Idols Stole the Show This New York Fashion Week

Every season, New York Fashion Week gathers some of today’s hottest celebrities from all around the world. But this season, in particular, K-Pop idols have been creating some of the most buzz-worthy moments at the event.

Traveling all the way from South Korea to celebrate the Spring/Summer 2023 fashion cycle in New York City, K-pop stars have been making headlines, reaching monumental achievements, and most importantly, serving looks.

Starting with American designer Peter Do’s collaboration with SM Entertainment. Jeno, from mega group NCT and subgroup NCT Dream, sat front row at Vogue World in a suit with satin detailing and platform boots designed by the brand. The very next day at the Peter Do showing, Jeno made his NYFW runway debut and became the first K-Pop idol to open a NYFW show, wearing a black suit with cut-outs and platform boots again.

Jeno was also joined by SM Rookies Shohei and Eunseok, members of the company’s trainee program. For their NYFW runway debut, Shohei wore a button-down draped around the waist and Eunseok walked in a collarless dress shirt with a cape.

Fellow label mate Seulgi of Red Velvet was also present at the show, sitting front row. She wore an all-black look featuring an asymmetrical skirt with pleating, cinched at the waist with a belt, and the designer’s trademark platform boots.

Also in attendance was K-Pop star Holland, who wore an all-white jumpsuit and cropped coat — by Peter Do, of course — that contrasted his bright red mullet hairstyle. The “I’m Not Afraid” singer was also spotted at the Coach show wearing an oversized teddy bear t-shirt, midi corduroy skirt, and logo-covered shearling boots. Holland completed the look with a choker necklace and graphic eyeliner, giving it an edgy vibe.
