Thanks to Kesha, the sheer trend got a rockstar-ready upgrade. While performing at the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert on Saturday, September 3, the performer wore her starry spin on sheer.
For the ‘fit, which you can see completely in this video, Kesha wore a sheer star dress over a black bodysuit. She shared further photos of the look in an Instagram carousel, giving followers a complete look at the stage outfit.
The sheer top was made entirely of chains and star cutouts. A high chain neckline, with a black star in the center, went on to form the rest of the top’s body. For the bottom of the dress, large stars ended just above Kesha’s knees. Kesha paired the sheer overlay with bright pink eye makeup and wavy hair.
Prior to Saturday’s performance, Kesha gave followers a sneak peek at what she planned to wear. Posing during what looked to be a rehearsal, Kesha was sporting the star-filled dress without the accompanying bodysuit underneath.
This wouldn’t be the first time Kesha participated in the sheer trend that’s overtaken Hollywood. Back in August, she wore a sheer black mesh dress with only a thong.
Kesha’s latest take on sheer is a bit more dramatic and made for the stage, but you could DIY her look by layering a similar sheer dress with a black mini dress. You could also take a cue from Vanessa Hudgens and find a sheer jacket, opting for a festival-approved look.
Back in June, Kesha opened up about her sexuality in an Instagram post. In recognition of Pride Month, she touched on sexual identity, writing, “In case I haven’t been straight forward enough (LOL) I just wanted to take a sec to tell everyone that you are not only enough, just as you are, but the world is so fucking lucky to have you. I’m not gay. I’m not straight. I don’t know what I am. I love people.”
