Khloé Kardashian Got a Tumor Removed from Her Face

After being spotted wearing a bandage on her face for the past few weeks, Khloé Kardashian is opening up about her health and teaching her followers an important lesson.

Khloé recently took to Instagram to explain why she has been wearing the bandage. As noted by British Vogue, the star shared via her Stories that a small bump on her cheek appeared seven months ago. She initially assumed it was just a zit but later realized it hadn’t changed or gone away in seven months. So, she decided to get a skin biopsy from two doctors who remarked that this type of condition was unusual for a 38-year-old. She ended up being instructed to have what was a tumor removed from her face in an immediate operation. Despite her and her doctors’ qualms about the facial surgery, they extracted the tumor, which is why Khloé has to wear bandages while she recovers.

Khloé is unashamedly wearing those coverings. “I hope you enjoy how fabulous I’m making these face bandages look,” she wrote in her statement. “I was lucky and all I have is a scar to tell a story with.”

Khloé also explained that she shares the story solely in hopes of reminding others to get their skin checked frequently. Khloé herself had melanoma at age 19 and had to get a cancerous mole removed, so she says she is now predisposed to it and wears sunscreen “every single day, religiously.” (SPF protects the skin from UVA and UVB rays as well as HEV lights indoors). Despite previous conditions or sunscreen use, Khloé encourages everyone to get annual check-ups and self-exam often.

This isn’t the first time Khloé Kardashian has spoken up about the importance of getting your skin checked. In 2016, 32-year-old Khloé shared her experience with a skin cancer scare, encouraging others to be aware of their skin and be on the lookout for any signs of skin cancer, making this a cause she’s been speaking up about for quite some time.
