Rising star NLE Choppa returns with new single “Little Miss,” accompanied by a video he co-directed. The 19-year-old rapper and Memphis native pushes the narratives of the viral “Little Miss” memes, challenging the admiringly independent woman he’s in love with to be cared for in ways she’s never been cared for before. The rapper’s lyrics are vulnerable and intentional, tender and protective. “Little miss got it all figured out / Little miss going through whatever / Little miss don’t need nobody else,” he sings on the chorus.

The heartbreaking visual for the song is intended to raise awareness to prevent domestic violence, and is the creative component of NLE Choppa’s partnership with YWCA Greater Memphis, in efforts to end domestic violence in his hometown. “When the rain start to pour, I’m the umbrella / Take the leave, follow me, I promise, I’ll protect you / Brighter days, you can’t see, but it gets better,” he says right before the bridge.
