The stars were out and ready to celebrate Shiffon Co.‘s latest jewelry design.
A handful of names, including The Summer I Turned Pretty star Minnie Mills, AKA Shayla, were in attendance at the NYC party, tied to the U.S. Open. Like her character in The Summer I Turned Pretty, Minnie showed that she has impeccable style, looking gorgeous in a Zimmerman dress and Stuart Weitzman heels. Ukrainian tennis star Dayana Yastremska also made an appearance, wearing a dress by One Of and shoes by Sarah Flint. Canada’s Bianca Andreescu wore a slinky Aritizia slip dress for the party, accessorized with Shiffon’s signature Duet Pinky Ring. American pros Danielle Collins, Jessica Pegula, Shelby Rogers and Bethanie Mattek-Sands also stopped by to celebrate.
The party also celebrated the launch of Shiffon’s newest design, the 1972 Tennis Pinky Ring. The diamond-encrusted version of the Duet ring, which retails for $2,800, honors the 50th anniversary of Title IX, the amendment that prohibits sex-based discrimination; it also pays homage to the sport of tennis itself and its role as the first sport to pay women equally. Only 1,972 rings will be made and a special fund for sports entrepreneurs has been created to benefit from a portion of its sales. According to Shiffon, less than “2.2% of venture capital goes to female founders and even less funding for female founders in verticals tied to sports.” Many of the party attendees wore the new piece with their party outfits, but the 1972 Tennis Pinky Ring isn’t currently for sale yet. In the meantime, you can join the waitlist if you’re looking to splurge on a special piece with an impact.
Shiffon Co. was created by Shilpa Yarlagadda in hopes of supporting female entrepreneurs. Shilpa’s goal with Shiffon was to help women connect with one another, lift each other up, and access the funding they need to pursue their passions and projects. The first product the brand launched was the delicate diamond-accented Duet Pinky Ring, which has been worn by everyone from former First Lady Michelle Obama to Meghan Markle to Serena Williams and represents “the ultimate pinky promise.” Because of the ring’s success, Shiffon has since been able to invest in 12 female-founded companies. Shiffon calls itself the “new generation of luxury” and believes that when people come together to support one another, big things happen.
