The news of the Queen’s death came only hours after she was placed under medical supervision by her doctors after they became “concerned” for her health. The British monarch was immediately succeeded by her son and heir Charles, who is 73.

UK Prime Minister Liz Truss
Just on Tuesday, September 6, Queen Elizabeth appointed Liz Truss as the new prime minister of the United Kingdom. “Queen Elizabeth II was the rock on which modern Britain was built. Our country has grown and flourished under her reign,” wrote PM Truss in a statement. “It is a day of great loss, but Queen Elizabeth II leaves a great legacy. God save the King.”
