Stacey Abrams Joins Latto Onstage for “P*ssy”: “My Body, My Choice”

Rapper Latto and politician Stacey Abrams have a message for voters ahead of the 2022 Midterm elections: “My body, my choice.”

Latto is currently the opener for Lizzo’s The Special Tour, which made its stop in Atlanta, Georgia over the weekend. Abrams made a surprise appearance during the show, coming out during Latto’s performance of her reproductive rights anthem “P*ssy.”

The “Big Energy” singer dropped “P*ssy” back in July, shortly after the overturning of Roe v. Wade. The official music video for the track features videos of protests against the ruling. Latto partnered with Planned Parenthood this past summer to deliver a public service announcement encouraging her fans to take action, and donated a portion of her proceeds from “P*ssy” to the organization.

At Atlanta’s State Farm Arena on Saturday, Abrams marched out onstage along with Latto’s backup dancers. At first, Abrams blended right in — she held a pink sign just like the other dancers, which read rallying cries like “Protect women’s rights,” “my body, my choice,” and the short and to-the-point “p*ssy.”

Abrams then raised her sign high in the air and took center stage, as seen in photos and video shared exclusively with Teen Vogue. “Give it up for the queen herself, Stacey Abrams,” said Latto, to huge cheers from the crowd.
